Scope and application

This website is administrated by the Energy Science Center at ETH Zurich to demonstrate the Nexus-e energy system modeling platform. These terms and conditions apply to everyone who visits this website or uses the content provided on this website.

Modeling results interpretation

All the modeling results presented on the website are subject to pronounced uncertainties and assumptions. To avoid misinterpretation, please refer to the publications, project descriptions and/or contact us to understand the underlying assumptions and the model limitations.

For public scientific use of any content (e.g., data, figures, statements) you must attribute the Nexus-e project. For public non-scientific use of any content, you must contact us to obtain a prior written consent.

Copyright

The copyright notice of ETH Zurich applies:

“All online documents and web pages as well as their parts are protected by copyright, and it is permissible to copy them and print them out only for private, scientific and noncommercial use.

Without prior written consent from ETH Zurich it is not permissible for the documents and web pages and parts thereof to be either copied or stored on other servers, input into news group or online services, or stored on CDROM or other data carriers. Data protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy. To ETH Zurich the protection not only of your personal but the safety and security of all data that flows through our institution is important. As part of this effort, we process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Law and, where applicable, with EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). This Privacy Policy may change from time to time.

We only collect data that is essential for the functions of the website. All the data is treated as strictly confidential and is neither passed on nor sold to third parties. We collect two types of data: (A) Personal information (name and email address) of the registered users. This information is collected to monitor the use of the modeling results. The data will be deleted when the user deletes his or her account. (B) Access data (IP address, date, time, browser request and general information on the operating system and browser) of visitors. This data is collected to identify suspicious access to this website for malicious purpose. The access data will be deleted after two years.

This website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored permanently or temporarily on your computer when you visit this website. Their main function is to analyse how a website is used, both for statistical evaluation and to help continually improve the site. You can set your browser to partly or completely deactivate cookies at any time; once cookies have been deactivated, however, some features of this website may not function properly. We make every effort to avoid or inform the visitor about non-essential third-party cookies.
