Before joining the Nexus-e project, Marius Schwarz worked at ETH’s Group for Sustainability and Technology (SusTec) for his doctoral studies. In his research at SusTec, he focused on the interplay between technology diffusion and overarching systems, investigating how policies can address integration challenges of high shares of renewables and energy storage. Marius Schwarz furthermore holds a MSc in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the RWTH Aachen University.

Xuqian Yan joined ETH in 2016 for the Master’s programme Energy Science and Technology which she successfully finished in 2019. Additionally, she gained valuable experience as research assistant at her time with the Sustainability and Technology Group and the Energy Politics Group at ETH Zurich. During her study, she also gained industrial experience as software developer at the Power Technologies International department at Siemens and the Electrification Suite & Test Lab at TUMCREATE Singapore. Prior to that, she studied at the Technical University of Munich, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Peking University.
